Erik Verrynne, [10 Aug 2024 at 17:49:43]: Hendrik. How do you guys use pure atipamezole to partially reverse the medetomidine for loading in absence of the atipamezole/yohimbine mixture? HO Reuter, 10 Aug 2024 Eric, when I run out of yohimbine or the atipamezole/yohimbine mixture, I just make up atipamezole at 2 mg/ml with sterile water or Dopram, and use at same dose (or only slightly higher dose) as the atipamezole/ yohimbine with very similar effect. The need to use any a-2 antagonist, as well as how much partial reversal is obviously dependent on the dosage used. At this lower dose on a 3-year-old, it makes sense not to need or administer reversal. The “magic” lies in having different options to get them up and walking at different dosages.
