Jaklien Goossens, [15 Feb 2025 at 11:11:29 AM]: Hi all, for MSc research regarding elephant electrocardiography under Dr Jacques O’Dell and Dr Bart Gazendam, we are looking for information on the position of an elephant’s heart in its body. There are very little publications about this topic, so we are looking to gather information from a postmortem. If anyone comes across an elephant carcass available for postmortem and is either willing to take pictures/videos for us or is happy to let me drive over and do a PM myself (currently in Pretoria), this would be a great help for our project. If you do, please contact me on either Telegram or WhatsApp. Thank you! David Gerber, [15 Feb 2025 at 10:38:57 PM]: I suggest you contact Marius Hornsveld. He is likely to have anatomical information Jaklien Goossens, [15 Feb 2025 at 10:43:34 PM]: I will send a message! Thank you for the tip. Kevin Robertson, 16 Feb 202 I dissected a number of elephants when writing my ‘Perfect Shot’ books. This diagram is as close to anatomically correct as I could get it. When an elephant’s front leg is in its most rearwards position, the humerus covers the anterior half of the heart. Jaklien Goossens, Thank you
