Nele Sabbe, [30 Oct 2024 at 14:38:47]: Does anyone have an idea if there is a difference in activity (duration, level, etc.) between zuclopenthixol acetate and zuclopenthixol decanoate for wildlife?? Richard Burroughs, 30 Oct 2024. Hi Nele. Yes, a huge difference. The acetate ester starts working within 1/2 to 1 hour and lasts about 3 days. The decanoate ester starts working at much the same time as perphenazine enanthate, but lasts up to 3-4 weeks, in humans at least. We gave up on it because of the severe extrapyramidal symptoms, ruminal atony and death. Maybe it’s time to relook at it? Nele Sabbe, [30 Oct 2024 at 17:07:02]: Great feedback. Yes, maybe worth looking into it! Only, it is kind of problematic when the side-effects present and the animal has to survive a few more weeks before it works out...
