Peter Rogers, [02 May 2023 at 12:52:33]: Good afternoon all. I have had two cases of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) in a group of cheetah. Is there a corona virus that is effective? Chris Perkins, [02 May 2023 at 12:59:51]: My wife has had a lot of success using the GS-441524 treatment for FIP in domestic cats, and is currently doing a masters on the subject. If you need more information let me know. Also, I heard V-Tech have a legal form of remdesivir. Which is the precursor to GS-441524. I believe they may even be keen to trail that product? Lyndsay Scott, [05 May 2023 at 09:42:01]: Good day! Had similar experience in intensively kept cheetah in Somaliland - even with regular booster vaccinations. I have success with GS-441524 treatments - currently have 2 positive cases responding beautifully to treatments, but we do give another booster to all in contact cheetah just in case too. Henry Labuschagne, [05 May 2023 at 10:04:20]: What vaccinations did you use? Intranasal FIP vaccine? Lyndsay Scott, [05 May 2023 at 11:07:41]: We got inactivated vaccinations from America - not much help, so sorry. However, the intranasal FIP vaccine was our plan B so they should help boost immunity. Henry Labuschagne, [05 May 2023 at 13:32:10]: Does that American inactivated feline vaccine include coronavirus? Lyndsay Scott, [05 May 2023 at 17:04:49]: Apologies!! Got my vaccines mixed up - the inactivated vaccine (triple vaccine) did not have feline coronavirus. We did not have access to inactivated feline coronavirus vaccine - only the intranasal vaccine. Henry Labuschagne, [05 May 2023 at 17:05:45]: In South Africa, we get a 4 in 1 inactivated vaccine for wild felids. Catvax 4 from Design Biologix (but it does not contain a corona vaccine).
