Johan Moolman, [26 Jun 2023 at 11:40:39]: Good morning, I have a client that would like to monitor his rhino by satellite tracking with 12h intervals. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you James Roxburgh, [26 Jun 2023 at 15:30:59]: Hi Johan. Phone Jason Tarr : 0731712539 Gary Bauer, [26 Jun 2023 at 16:10:13]: Can also look at CeresTag. Saw them for first time last week and if they are as good as they claim, it'll be great. Google CeresTag. Johan Moolman, [26 Jun 2023 at 16:15:18]: Thanks a lot for the help. Joel Alves, [26 Jun 2023 at 16:22:36]: Just a note on Ceres tags. We’ve tested a number on rhino without much success. The double attachment point and weight seems to cause more harm than good in rhino ears, so we’ve steered back away from them. The longest lasting was about 3 months. Mud also plays a big role in affecting solar charging capacity. We’re currently testing GSat Solars new tags but literally only deployed one and been on for four days so far so cannot give much feedback. They’re Ceres competition and come in at around 10-12g lighter for a total weight of 22g. According to tests carried out by others, that seems to be a weight cut off for rhino ears without causing too much issue so they’re certainly promising. If interested you can contact Rene Winter. Used a natural hole in this case but would otherwise place more centrally. More likely to migrate out towards the periphery. The back of the ear seems to collect more mud. Johan Moolman, [26 Jun 2023 at 16:24:20]: Thanks Joel.
