He was very calm with the other animals at food, ran away a bit, went down at 5 min, stable and sternal. I loaded him on a truck, gave him 25 mg perphenazine hydrochloride IM and fully reversed him with Yohimbine/Revazole as well as Trexonil IV as I always do. He is fully awake but cannot get up in hind quarters.... Any wise advice what it can be? The body condition score is about 2/5. Thanks Ulf Tubessing, [30 Jul 2024 at 18:56:07]: Hi Gernot. I would put my $ on "capture myopathy". Years ago, I had the "privilege" to dart 3 sable bulls from the same breeding group in a small camp from a helicopter - those days still the Namibian standard dose of 10 mg Thianil straight. None were chased for more than 2-3 min and all down within 3 min, nice and stable. I know there is going to be a lot of background noise, but chill guys/girls, I am talking Namibia in old days and done 100's with that dose! The bulls were loaded and taken to a camp 5 km away, reversed with naltrexone at double dose but none ever got up. All buckling over on hind-quarters and not able to stand. All typical "capture myopathy" PS's - yes, not a happy ending 😣. The body condition score at the time was 3-4/5. Gernot Redeker, [31 Jul 2024 at 09:36:31]: Feedback on the sable bull. We travelled 500km, and he did not want to get up the entire trip. At destination, he got up as if nothing had happened to him - maybe just one of these very "naughty" sable bulls.
