Erik Verrynne, This video was sent to us. We are not able to examine the python. They report that snake is fine apart from this firm lump. Any ideas what it can be? Gareth Hunter, [16 Dec 2023 at 19:20:20]: I’m not sure if they’d be able to do an FNA with a fairly large bore needle? Or at least to see if anything is introduced into the syringe or needle. It could very well be an abscess. Reptile pus can be very caseous and hard. I have seen a few s/c abscesses appearing similar to that in snakes, but it is not impossible for it to be a tumour. Erik Verrynne Thanks Gareth. Much appreciated. I will suggest that and see what they can do. Gareth Hunter, [16 Dec 2023 at 19:44:37]: Should it be an abscess, they can be a bit of a headache to treat, as getting all the necrotic tissue out can be challenging. Finding out what it could be is the first step.
