Subcutaneous petechiae on chest, but not on serosal surfaces. 3 died acutely. Toxins would also be a DD at this stage. Newton Sparks, [06 Sep 2023 at 23:03:10]: The ostrich that I mentioned a couple of days ago with congested proventriculus, tested negative for avian influenza and NCD ( with lab results as well as alive, in contact chickens test). There is a possibility of gifblaar poisoning as well. Young shoots of gifblaar demonstrated in the camp (no deaths while they were removed from the camp but bird affected again once they were moved back to the camp.) Has anybody seen gifblaar poisoning in ostrich? I can only find referral to one ostrich death due to gifblaar on the internet. Yes there were some leaves eaten by something. Don't see any dead worms lying around, so might be the ostriches. Leaves too ground up in the gizzard to identify anything...
