Gareth Hunter, [15 Nov 2022 at 08:41:46]: Could anybody recommend a cocktail for 2 healthy male adult pumas that need to be immobilised and transported for approximately 1 hour. Unfortunately, I do not have either midazolam or butorphanol, and no other benzodiazepines. I was thinking of trying to use high medetomidine, low Zoletil, with the animal only waking up after about 40 mins. Thinking 0.07mg/kg med and 0.5mg/kg Zoletil. Anybody think that’s a bad idea or have recommendations? Have ketamine, but I figured the zolazepam would be useful. Henry Labuschagne, [15 Nov 2022 at 09:22:45]: Medetomidine 1mg per 50kg Ketamine 100mg per 50kg. Reverse 1ml yohimbine/atipamezole plus pure atipamezole to get to 3mg atipamezole to 1mg medetomidine. Spray pet remedy on face and feet and in crate. Dark crate.
