Once showing effect give 2nd dart with M99 @ 1mg per 100kg. If you give all in one dart they show effect from etorphine first and go bananas . Good luck. Ryan van Deventer: Just some feedback on the horse darting. Went on Henry's recommendation: 8mg medetomidine and 40 mg Azaperone. Waited 15 minutes and followed up with 4mg Etorphine and 100mg Ketamine. Went down well. Easy to manage and geld. Loaded and reversed with 25mg Naltrexone IM and 12mg Atipamezole IV. Midazolam should help with tremors but it was quick done and reversed. Tamed donkey 0.5 Domosedan and 1 ml butorphanol iv. Some books advocate etorphine, detomidine and butorphanol combination. Asiatic wild ass in Mongolia they used successfully 4 etorphine, 10 detomidine and 10 butorphanol. Without butorphanol they run km. Przewalski wild horses: 2.5 to 3 etorphine 10 detomidine and 10 butorphanol induction 5-10 minutes.
