Christiaan Blignaut, [11 Jan 2023 at 16:25:07]: Good afternoon, any advice on parasite control in captive lions? My client currently uses Ecomintic for 3 consecutive days, every 3 months. And also Fiprotec spray every other month. Is this protocol sufficient? Excessive? Is there a better spray/pour on option than the fiprotec? Thank you in advance Henry Labuschagne, [11 Jan 2023 at 19:39:58]: Vetscripts make a Predator deworming tablet and a Topspot ( Fipronil + Imidacloprid) I find it effective and economical . Deworm every 3 mths and Topspot every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the challenge. In felines I use Fenbendazole @ 20mg per kg for 5 consecutive days. Ockert Botha, [11 Jan 2023 at 22:03:06]: Fenbendazole has a great margin of safety in Felids. Single day treatment low efficacy 3 day treatment highly effective. So I would suggest alternating Vetscripts Predator deworming with Vetscripts 500 mg Fenbendazole tablets every 3 months. May be extended to 5 days Fenbendazole Peter Rogers, [12 Jan 2023 at 09:46:27]: We also use Bravecto in lions - usually the oral formation, but to be safe only every 5-6 months
