Ellie Milnes Jacques, we have used etorphine + azaperone then give 5-10 x the etorphine dose of butorphanol per mg to walk (e.g. 5 mg etorphine + 40 mg azaperone then 25-50 mg butorphanol IV). Fit a blindfold that can be covered by the horse halter and fit earplugs, Henry Labuschagne I have used etorphine 2 mg plus medetomidine 5 mg plus azaperone 40 mg in stallions.
