There was minimal to no response after 10 minutes. I darted again with 3 Thianil and 6 medetomidine after 15 minutes. 15 minutes after the second dart, the bird only showed slight sedation symptoms. We were not able to hand catch at all. I think dart placement was good, but might not have been sensitive to the thiafentanil. Has anyone else experienced something similar? On 6 mg Thianil and azaperone, they go down quicker and still good but they also run a lot. They stand around, eating and act normal, then the neck goes back and off they go, zig-zag and running into things if something is in the way. So try longer needles (penetrate wing feathers) and higher up on thorax. From chopper with 1 mg medetomidine and 15 mg diazepam darted onto back. They are catchable.
