Jacques O’Dell, 11 July 2024 Evening colleagues. Today I have been humbled by buffalo. Man, these are amazingly powerful beasts. Has anyone used medetomidine WITHOUT any potent opioids to immobilize buffalo? If so, what dose? And what drugs, if any, did you use in combination with it? I know, after today, that 12 mg opioid with around 900 mg ketamine (and 50 mg of azaperone given around an hour earlier) will flatten a large adult bull. Unfortunately, no pulse oximeter was available nor blood gas done, but he was very deep and I think he saw the light… Your comments will be appreciated Lekker aand
