Christiaan Blignaut, [8 Apr 2025 at 13:06:05]: Advice needed please. I have a two-day old springbok lamb that is very weak and has been abandoned. We have tried bottle feeding with a milk recipe I got off this group. Any other suggestions? Can I drip it? If yes, which vein and fluid should I use? Must I add dextrose? Bart Gazendam, [8 Apr 2025 at 16:33:22]: Hi Chris, did it have colostrum? I would check Total Protein (TP) & albumin (Alb) if you can to determine the globulin fraction. Otherwise, it’s a never-ending fight if it doesn’t have any. You can put it on a 5% glucose drip, but [glucose] needs to be monitored closely. You can place a catheter in upper front leg - I find the dorsal side is the easiest. Call me if you have more questions 😊👍 (Bovine) plasma would be the best.
