Bouvy Claushuis, 14 September 2024 Hi everyone, I would like to ask for your opinion/ ideas. This is a 8y/o buffalo bull, Southern Zambia, imported from SA 1.5 years ago. It was darted 6 weeks ago without complications. It has a good Body Condition Score, and still ruminating. It is showing slow and shortened pace, a wide-based stance, ataxia and incoordination, especially on the hindlimbs. Any ideas? Andy Fraser, [15 Sep 2024 at 17:22:25]: FMD, laminitis, 3-day Stiff Sickness, thiamine deficiency (probably stood in boma for a while before export), lots of other DD's including vector borne diseases. Head carriage is low - I don't think he's just weight shifting due to lameness, probably something 'systemic' going on Immobilise and do a clinical, haematology and radiographs of distal joints and hooves if available & feasible. Bouvy Claushuis, [15 Sep 2024 at 17:35:30]: Thank you so much Andy! Roy Bengis, [15 Sep 2024 at 19:02:53]: How has your rainfall been recently. Any significant increase in viral vectors?? Ryan Jeffery, [15 Sep 2024 at 20:07:41]: Neck injury from fighting...wobblers-type symptoms? Bouvy Claushuis, [15 Sep 2024 at 20:09:59]: No rainfall yet. Last rain was in April. Thank you for the feedback!
