Osama M Abd-Ellatief, 12 July 2024 Good morning dear colleagues, I hope you be well. Could anybody tell me about abomasal displacement in giraffe. Does it have a specific faecal score or form. Also, a query about magnesium sulphate administration in drinking water to giraffe (200 gms dissolved in 10 litres of water) the consumed amount was about 2 litres. Can this be fatal to the giraffe? Thanks. Ulf Tubessing, 12 July 2024 I have only once seen abomasal displacement in wildlife and that was on post mortem examination of a sable bull that was darted twice 3 weeks apart. He died within 12 hours of the 2nd darting and on PM had left sided abomasal displacement and further findings suggestive of Clostridial enterotoxaemia. You are referring to faecal score related to abomasal displacement - are you referring to worm egg count? Osama M Abd-Ellatief, 12 July 2024 Not only due to faecal account but also was suffering from tympany and dehydration.....also the necropsy.
